‘Marvel’s Avengers’ released a new trailer today. It’s more of the footage we’ve already seen, however. You’ll remember how a few months ago the title was delayed, along with every other release in 2020. It’s been a while since we last heard about this game, and today I got excited when I saw the notification. I quickly jumped on to watch the new trailer and was immediately underwhelmed. It was all the footage we’ve already been fed! Some of it looked older and didn’t match. It’s an odd drop for the developers and makes us wonder what the hell is going on.
According to the description in the video, “Marvel’s Avengers is an epic, third-person, action-adventure game that combines an original, cinematic story with single-player and co-operative gameplay. Assemble into a team of up to four players online, master extraordinary abilities, customize a growing roster of Heroes, and defend the Earth from escalating threats.” This sounds amazing, and we’ve been pretty hyped up about it, but after today some of my excitement has gone down.
Gamers Losing Interest In ‘Marvel’s Avengers’ With Latest Trailer
Unfortunately, I wasn’t the only one who seemed to lose interest. The comments on YouTube are heartbreaking. One comment read, “I’m honestly getting more and more underwhelmed by each trailer. Shame cause I was one of the ones who defended what has been shown so far. This just looks so generic.” Another added, “Man the more I see this game the less I wanna play it… This is not “the” avengers game… I don’t wanna play it all to be honest with ya, hard pass for me. I’ll stick with spidey.” “Ah yes reused footage what everyone wants to see”. It goes on, and on, and on.
It’s a bummer this is what we got today, but who knows. Maybe when it finally releases, we will be surprised. I think we all wanted this to be something special, and something we could play over and over. I suppose we’ll have to wait for the release in September before judging it. Although this was not a good look for the title.
