We recently got news that Biomutant is still definitely on its way with a confirmed release of May 25 . Since then we have had some more news explaining why we didn’t hear anything from the studio; Experiment 101. Through the years since the announcement was made in 2017.
We did have a short gameplay that showed off what we were getting from the game but not much else. It does seem like we’re going to get a lot more information up to its release. Starting with this interview with the developer.
What the studio has to say about the radio silence:
It’s been a huge amount of work for QA, because it’s not easy in an open-world game to find them,”
“And then once they’ve been found, we have to fix them, and that’s put some additional challenge on us, being a small team.” he continued. “Any game is going to ship with bugs, but I’m talking about bugs that are truly disruptive to the game experience,”
“We don’t want to ship with that. I think that’s what caused us to just wait until we were ready to do it.”
It does seem like the studio went the right way with this. A constant crunch for a studio is a very known and controversial thing a studio does to get their game out on time. By not having any updates there don’t have time restraints until there is near 100% that it can make that release date.
Biomutant did the right thing
Biomutant seems like they did the right thing here. As the announcements are usual to build anticipation for the game. Then the game releases and doesn’t hit the benchmark.
An example of this is Cyberpunk 2077. They do also praise THQ’s publishing of the game as well. Letting them have a lot of freedom with their creation of Biomutant.
After looking at all this information, it seems like supporting this game is a must. So please show some support to this game as it seems like there is a great passion behind it.
I do hope it now leaves up to annicaptation. As at the Biomutant, it does look ok but we have only seen early gameplay. Let’s hope Biomutant is a good game that will give others a run for their money.
